Neopets Game - Why Do Kids Love These Virtual Animals?
The neopets game site is where
people gather (sometimes as families) to play free online games.
They care for pets and have lots of fun. Now, in case you
are new to this thing; these "pets" are not your average, everyday pets.
They are very virtual.
They are very different from the
animals we have on planet earth, although they are all - at least, in some
way - related to earth animals.
Neopets Game Idea
This is basically the whole idea behind
the neopets game. You
play these games to get points. Getting points is fun. The points are like
currency. You can use them to buy materials and food for you pet.
Hey, we do the same thing in life everyday - but we call our points money.
And you know how the world works: he who has the most money has the power.
Same thing in neopet land.
If you are a smart kid who
likes challenges and who enjoys making decisions, the neopets site also has
puzzles and games of strategy.
You can also train your pet to battle with bought
equipment. Maybe this is te part my dad complains about. Dad's "Neopet
Peeve"
What's the point about these "alien" pets? The neopets
game is a wasted chance to teach more valuable lessons. It would be better
to have a virtual dog that a virtual "I don't know what".
The lessons learnt in caring for a virtual dog in a neopets game could be
directly transferred to the real life pet care. I like
real stuff. I don't like fiction. Life is too short to play games - well...
I mean games that are not real or true to life. And then again, I hate
flirting with extra-terrestrial stuff. The general idea
behind the neopets game is good. Kids can learn decision making skills and
resource management, but why waste the chance to make it more real?
Are the creators of the game saying that if it is real it can't be fun?
