Kid chat room activities are like foreign language class to many adults. It's
time we faced the truth - for many of us, our kids are way ahead of us on the
computer proficiency scale.
No shame. They have to use the computer to get through school nowadays. Many
of us never had PC's on our campus while we were their age. So should we let
them kill themselves because we are "ignorant"?

minute and you might not even hear the keyboard. This is cyber-chat. If parents

chatting for kids. What may be safe or appropriate for one family may not be for
you - your values may not be norm. We all have important peculiarities and

proof that you need to monitor your home base. Take charge of your computer in
your home. Don't leave it up to yahoo! or MSN to provide safe and appropriate
experiences for your kids.

There is good news for those who are not quite computer
proficient. Don't despair, the same technology that is making these newcomers
(kids) so smart, is available to help people of every age acquire the skill and
proficiency like that that in using a telephone.

smart programs can actually talk you through the steps you need to complete a
task.
Think about it, the computer is multimedia device. So if you
