Real Educational Games are a smart way to have great fun
Listen up now parents and children... especially
children. Games are cool. It's fun to play entertaining games, but think
about this...
Can you afford to spend most of your time playing games
that don't help you to really succeed in life? It wouldn't make sense if
all your time were spent just winning **nothing** and not learning
something.
Would it?
That's why I have to recommend educational games such
as BookWorm Deluxe from
PopCap Games. BookWorm is easy to play and it makes you think.
Basically, you create words to feed the bookworm
by clicking on the letter tiles.
For example, to create the word "HANDY" as shown in the
picture on this page, click the letters in order.
The stacks of letters move down each time you use a
tile and more letter tiles are added at the top.
You have to make sure you use up the red hot tiles
before they get to the bottom, or else they will burn down the
library! That would be the "end of your game" - but you can play again and
again.
And you will love to see your score grow. It's a game
of strategy, too. You'll squeeze every bit out of your vocabulary to come
up with the longest words.
From the dots on the letter tiles you can see that some
letters, and letter combinations such as "Qu", are worth more than others.
The game gets harder as you play, but you also move up in your rank (or
level), so it is fun!
